You work remotely for a company outside Spain and want to stay longer? Once your stay gets longer, Spanish rules apply to your taxes and social security. We make sure everything runs properly: fast, in English or German and at a clear price. For you and for your employer.

When do you need to act?
Taxes
Anyone who spends more than 183 days in a calendar year in Spain, or has the centre of their interests here, is usually tax resident in Spain. Your salary is then taxed in Spain.
Social security
If you work from Spain on a permanent basis, you are usually required to pay social security in Spain. A posting with an A1 certificate is only possible for a limited time. Your employer then has to register you in Spain.
Three routes we set up for you
1. Employment through our partner
For companies without an entity in Spain.
- A Spanish partner with the necessary licences formally employs you
- You keep working for your company, just as before
- Your company receives a monthly invoice: salary plus fee
- We take care of advice, documents and support in English or German
Monthly fee on request
2. Your company registers you itself
For companies that want to remain the direct employer.
- Registration of your employer with the Spanish social security
- Ongoing filings through a Gestoría
- Your contact person for questions and letters from the authorities
690 € set-up, then 249 € per month
3. You become self-employed
If you work for your clients as a freelancer.
- Registration as an Autónomo with Hacienda and social security
- Digital certificate, Gestoría contact
- Applying for the tarifa plana in the first year
390 €, in the Autónomo Start package 1,490 €
Well looked after, on an ongoing basis
For payroll, tax returns and filings we work with experienced Gestorías. We put you in touch and remain your contact person in English or German, even after the start.
For employers
No entity of your own
You don’t need to set up a company in Spain to employ someone there.
One invoice a month
Salary, social security contributions and fee in one invoice. No Spanish paperwork on your desk.
Ready to start quickly
We sort out the documents and the process with you and your employee so that the employment can begin promptly.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to quit my job?
No. With employment through our partner, you keep working for your company. Formally, the partner in Spain is your employer, and the contract governs the relationship with your company.
Isn’t it enough to stay under 183 days?
The 183 days concern your tax residence. Social security and the centre of your interests have their own criteria. Have your case checked before you work in Spain for months.
What about the digital nomad visa?
As an EU citizen you don’t need it. More on this in the guide Moving to Spain as a digital nomad.
My employer doesn’t speak German or Spanish. Does that still work?
Yes. We explain the process to your employer in English too.
