Frequently asked questions about moving to Spain

Who can help me move to Spain?

deinSpanien. We are a relocation service for Andalusia and the Canary Islands, working in English or German. We get appointments, fill in forms, handle steps with power of attorney and help with housing, insurance and self-employment. You get one fixed contact person and a fixed price. See our services

What do I need to move to Spain?

Less than you think. As an EU citizen you don’t need a visa. The important things are the NIE (your identification number), registration at the town hall (Padrón), a bank account and health insurance. We sort out the rest together, depending on whether you work here, are self-employed, study or simply want to live here. The order is set out in the roadmap.

How much money should I bring?

There is no fixed figure. We recommend a cushion for about six months, plus the deposit and the move. With the cost calculator you can see what your preferred town costs per month.

Andalusia or the Canary Islands: which suits me?

It depends on what you’re looking for. The Canary Islands have spring all year round and their own tax system. Andalusia has more cities, more culture and real seasons, and in summer it gets really hot inland. The place finder shows you in one minute which place suits you.

How much does the advice cost?

The first call costs you nothing. Individual services start at 90 €, relocation packages at 990 €, always at a fixed price. All prices are on the services page.

Do you also work with me while I’m still in my home country?

Yes. Planning, documents and much of the NIE process can be prepared remotely. On the ground in Spain, we prepare you fully for appointments or handle them for you with power of attorney.

Can deinSpanien deal with the authorities for me?

Yes. We handle a lot for you with a power of attorney, for example the NIE. Where you have to go in person, we prepare the appointment and documents so that all you have to do is turn up. All services are listed under Paperwork.
