About me
Hi, I’m Lennart Ludwig.
Born and raised in Hamburg, trained as a marketing communications specialist (Kaufmann für Marketingkommunikation). Three years ago I packed my bags and moved to Spain. On my own and without a word of Spanish. Today I am self-employed and study at a Spanish university on the side.
Why Spain?
I wanted to get out and experience something new. More sun, more lightness and people who take time for each other. In Hamburg I often felt that the grey was not just hanging in the sky. Today I live in Spain and have not regretted the step for a single day.
I did every step myself
Nobody did the work for me. I went through every visit to the authorities, every form and every hurdle myself:
- Looking for a flat as a newcomer without Spanish references
- Registering at the town hall (Padrón)
- NIE
- GP and registering at the Centro de Salud
- Health insurance and the European Health Insurance Card
- Bank account, Bizum and mobile contract
- Taxes and registering as self-employed (Autónomo)
- Enrolling at a Spanish university
- Property, beautiful places and how everyday life here really works
That is exactly the difference: I don’t explain anything to you that I have only read somewhere. I know where things get stuck, which documents are really required and how you can save yourself weeks of waiting and frustration.
